"Scholarship support made my Findlay experience possible." -- Kyle Rickle, animal science student
Animal science student, Kyle Rickle, had his fair share of health scares. Beginning in middle school, he endured multiple brain surgeries, and while a UF undergraduate, survived a life-threatening intestinal infection. Scholarships made all the difference.
Through it all, Kyle maintained a competitive GPA, served on the president’s student advisory council, and worked with area veterinarians.
“The truth is, I’m not here for myself. I want to help others. UF has changed my life and I want to make a positive impact on others for the rest of their lives.” -- Lydia Sparks, education student

Education alumna, Lydia Sparks, moved out of her mother’s home four months prior to graduating from high school so her sister and her sister’s three children could move in after her brother-in-law died of a heroin overdose. Not only did she continue to excel in her studies, but she also stepped up as an aunt to help care for the children.
Lydia is now an intervention specialist at a Hancock County local school here in Ohio. As a student she worked at the University’s Shafter Library, volunteered as a tutor for the College of Education’s Clubhouse, which assists Hancock County K-12 students with literacy lessons; and remained active in the educational honor society.
